Match each overnight to the landscape

Port Angeles covers the northern park, Forks brings the Hoh and Pacific beaches closer, and Lake Crescent gives you an evening beside the water. Farther south, choose Kalaloch for beaches, Quinault for a southern rainforest approach or seasonal Sol Duc lodging for the falls and pools.

For two days, stay in Port Angeles. For three or four days covering north and west, split the nights. The Port Angeles, Forks and Sequim comparison focuses on those three towns; the regions below show where a scenic overnight adds to the trip.

01 · Find your base

Port Angeles: the northern base

Port Angeles is our first choice for Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent and local park tours. Stay downtown for restaurants and the ferry on foot, or choose an east-side motel for free parking and a straightforward driving base.

Spend the first nights here for a northern introduction, then move west when the rainforest and coast become the main focus.

02 · Find your base

Lake Crescent: stay for the setting

Book Lake Crescent Lodge for the shoreline, forest walks and a lakefront evening. It is a scenic place to break the journey between the northern park and the drive toward Forks.

Select the room category and dining plan for your dates. Seasonal services are part of the lake stay; Port Angeles offers a broader choice of restaurants nearby.

03 · Find your base

Forks: move west for rainforest and beaches

Stay near Forks for several Hoh and Pacific beach outings. Shorter drives let you start the forest earlier and spend more of the day on the shore.

On a two-base trip, move from Port Angeles after the lake or Sol Duc day. Choose a western room with the beds and food facilities your group will use.

04 · Find your base

Kalaloch, Quinault or Sol Duc: stay with the landscape

Kalaloch suits Pacific beach time on US 101 south of Forks. The Lake Quinault area is a southern rainforest base for a loop around the peninsula. Both make strong overnight stops when your route continues south.

Seasonal Sol Duc resort lodging keeps the waterfall and mineral pools in the same valley. Use its operating calendar for the stay and reserve pool sessions alongside your dates.

05 · Find your base

Book the route in the right order

Pick the number of full park days, reserve your overnight bases, then add the rooms and tours. Our 2-, 3- and 4-day routes give you a ready starting point.
